Firstly, I should apologise for the lack of recent posts..
Work has been pretty slow, as it usually is this time of year and I’ve had so much else to do that the blog has taken a back seat for a while..thankfully I have an update.
I was offered some editorial work to shoot at a smokehouse in Suffolk for a feature.. really excited by this I naturally jumped at the chance..
The day of the shoot arrived, and it was so damn cold it was awful. The Smokehouse in question was naturally right on the coast and the wind was cutting off the sea and across the land and within two minutes I couldn’t feel my hands at all.. I proceed to set the studio lights up in the smokehouse, but because of the wind the smoke was bellowing around the shelter, which basically meant that my subject matter could stand in place for no more than about 5 seconds due to watering eyes! This coupled with the cold and bitter wind made this one of the hardest shoots I’ve recently done.
I came away stinking of smoke, frozen cold and not in a very good mood! Thankfully I got enough shots for the magazine in question, but it was far from ideal!
