As some of you may have seen on twitter or read in the regional news papers, I have some rather exciting news…
I’ve been invited to join two other intrepid cyclists, cycling over 6000 miles from Bury St Edmunds to Rwanda.
Pete White, Pete Goodwin, and I will travel approximately 6,000 miles and through 12 countries in just 70 days by bike from the UK to Rwanda to raise thousands of pounds in sponsorship to make a difference to youngsters in the country.
The three cyclists will start the ‘Cycle to Rwanda’ trek in May 2012 from West Suffolk Athletics Arena, Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre, Suffolk, and ending in the capital of Rwanda, Kigali.
The Arena has been chosen to host the Rwandan Olympic and Paralympic teams Pre-Games Training Camp as they prepare for London 2012.
The two Petes and I aim to arrive in Kigali, Rwanda, in time to accompany the Rwandan Olympic team on their journey to Bury St Edmunds.
More information on the ride is available through www.sportforrwanda.org or on twitter @cycle2rwanda
The training is coming along quite nicely..This morning I was out for a 130 mile ride and aside from getting hit by a white van (thankfully no broken bones!) the ride was good.. a picture of me training is below.
