While trawling through the internet and checking up on some of my recent work and photographic competition entries I came across the National Geographic Traveller Photographic Compeition, which I entered a few weeks back.
While checking through the shortlisted enteries I was thrilled to see my entry : Sudanese Boy : has been shortlisted for the colour section of the competition.
The image was taken on my 2012 cycle trek | Cycle to Rwanda
Here is a little bit of information about the image :
Having just cycled 80 miles in the sweltering heat through Sudan, I arrived into the small village of Abbry completed shattered. A local bar owner offered to cook me the only thing he had, which were eggs. I relaxed on the plastic seats set into the sand. All of sudden a young boy came into view, standing against the vivid blue wall with one of the softest smiles I have ever seen.
