A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of being commissioned for a shoot of a Master Thatcher in Suffolk.
The shoot had been postponed a couple of time due to the snow and ice (after all, who wants to get on a roof when it’s icy!!) but thankfully, on the third try, it was bitterly cold, but really enjoyable, with the old spell of sun!
It was pretty tough shooting images up on the roof, mainly due to the bitterly wind, but I’m pretty pleased with what I shot. It’s always fascinating how different subject matter calls for different skills!
My illustrated feature will be appearing in a magazine in the next coupe of months, when I will go into detail about exactly what a fascinating and thriving industry thatching is.
