Thankfully, after the horrendous downpour that followed the women’s race, the weather decided to brighten up slightly for the ‘main event’.
The crowds began to fill the streets and there was a good buzz around the market town of Aylsham.
Although a compact a circuit, I felt that having such an event in a small market town was terrific, it actually reminded me of some of the small crits in Europe.
The racing was pretty tidy and with the tarmac drying out, it was pretty fast at times. UK Youth were on form again, as you would expect with a team with a big budget! It was nice to see Scully mixing it up too! He’s a lovely chap and I’m pleased he was holding onto the sprint jersey.
