As a photographer it’s always good to have various streams of income and as the saying goes, fingers in many pies!
Naturally I shoot a fair amount of stock imagery and whilst this sector of the industry has taken huge hits in recent years, it can still be a good way to earn a small amount of income in the long term. Naturally large agents like Alamy and Phototake have most of my work, but I’ve started to supply a small amount of work to some new boys…including Picfair, which seems a great little microstock/library.
My images have only been on the site for about 72hours and I’m flattered to be on their pick of the week… with a shot from my time in Aswan last year.
“Each week we profile some of our favourite images added to Picfair – where photographers choose the price of their images, keep all copyright, and, if someone wants to use it, they get paid. Week 6 is superb – featuring old ladies smoking (or possibly drinking) coconuts, flies eating other flies, stunning profiles of pigs, and beautiful Birmingham.”
