I’m doing a seminar at WEX Photographic in March….
Pop along, say hi and enjoy some of the images from my trip and a little more about the adventure, my photographic gear and how I got along photographing the wonderful people of Africa I met as I cycled on by..
“Leaving the UK with a bicycle and four small panniers, Julian left on an adventure of a lifetime, cycling 5500miles to Rwanda, with the aim of creating a series of images of the wonderful people he met along his journey and arriving in Rwanda just 64 days later.
Documenting his adventure and the interactions along the way was a crucial part of the adventure for the Norfolk based photographer.
Therefore, choosing the right equipment was a critical part of this journey. With limited space available, Julian discusses the issues he faced with the type of equipment he chose and how he dealt with numerous logistical photographic issues. Cycling 100 miles per day, yet still finding time to document the cycle adventure was all part of the challenge, as was dealing with 47 degree heat, armed soldiers, stone throwing children and the harsh realities of life in Eastern Africa.”
