The Theatre Royal Norwich played host to a 4 month long project entitled To End All Wars. For the centenary of the start of the First World War, the Theatre mounted To End All Wars to bring home to young people of different ages the human significance of that terrible catastrophe.
With John Hurt as an unobtrusive yet authoritative narrator and compere, the groups of pupils used speech, song, stage movement and expressive dance in a series of imaginative and touching evocations of what the war meant to local families.
The images below are from the final performance on Friday which saw a packed theatre witness the incredible work the youngsters had put into their performance, leaving many with a tear in their eye after some rather moving acting.
